September 19 (SMM) — Northern ports: Australian lumps at 40.6-41.1 yuan/mtu, up 0.74% WoW; South African semi-carbonate at 34.2-34.7 yuan/mtu, up 0.58% WoW; Gabon ore at 39.6-40.2 yuan/mtu, up 0.76% WoW; South African high-iron ore at 29.6-30.1 yuan/mtu, up 0.67% WoW; South African medium-iron ore at 35.3-35.8 yuan/mtu, flat WoW.  
Southern ports: Australian lumps at 40.3-41 yuan/mtu, up 1.25% WoW; South African semi-carbonate at 36.3-36.8 yuan/mtu, up 0.55% WoW; Gabon ore at 40.2-40.7 yuan/mtu, up 1.25% WoW; South African high-iron ore at 30.5-31 yuan/mtu, flat WoW; South African medium-iron ore at 36.7-37.4 yuan/mtu, flat WoW.  

This week, the manganese ore market operated firmly. Traders' reluctance to budge on prices remained, and the transaction price center edged up overall.  
Operating rates at plants in both north and south China stayed high this week. In addition, the recent fluctuation of SiMn futures at highs provided positive feedback to the SiMn market. The overall market sentiment was positive, and the acceptance of manganese ore prices improved. Ore miners’ firm offers still underpinned the market, and manganese ore transaction prices rose overall. Stockpiling by plants for the National Day holiday is underway, and demand for manganese ore remains. Expectations of rising manganese ore prices persist. In general, the manganese ore market operated firmly recently, and ore miners’ reluctance to budge on prices remained strong. Manganese ore prices are expected to stay high in the near term.

According to news from Dalong Development Zone, the "Hongxing Electronic Scrap Lithium Battery Recycling Production Line Construction Project" is steadily advancing, moving closer to completion and operation.
Currently, Section 1 of the project has completed the topping-out of three monomer buildings: the logistics service center, administrative office center, and R&D quality inspection center. Interior decoration is expected to begin in October. Section 2, the production plant area, consists of approximately 11 large steel structure buildings, with relevant equipment already on site for foundation excavation of bearing platforms.


[SMM Flash News] New Progress on 40,000 mt Project by Battery Recycling "Dark Horse"

Recently, the Huaihai Sodium-Ion Battery New Energy Production and Sales Integrated Project was successfully signed and settled in Fuxin High-Tech Zone, Liaoning Province. The project has a total investment of 800 million yuan, with the investor being Huaihai Holding Group. As a key project for upgrading Fuxin's new energy industry, the Huaihai Sodium-Ion Battery Project plans to build a closed-loop entire industry chain encompassing "sodium-ion battery R&D—new energy vehicle manufacturing—market sales network—supporting service system," to be implemented in three phases. Among these, Phase 1 officially commenced operations on September 12, quickly launching product display and regional wholesale and retail businesses. Phase 2 will revitalize idle factory buildings in the high-tech zone for assembly and processing, expected to achieve annual sales of 100,000 three-wheelers and 100,000 two-wheelers, with battery sales reaching 300,000 kWh. Phase 3 plans to construct a comprehensive industrial park, achieving integrated operations from design to vehicle sales.

Recently, the Chuzhou Municipal Ecology and Environment Bureau released the "Pre-Approval Public Notice of the Environmental Impact Assessment Form for the Xingke Energy Technology (Anhui) Co., Ltd. Annual 3 GWh All-Solid-State Battery R&D and Production Project."
It is understood that the newly constructed "Annual 3 GWh All-Solid-State Battery R&D and Production Project (Phase 1)" is located southeast of the intersection of Tongling Road and Tuoqiaoling Road in Langya District, Chuzhou City, with the constructor being Xingke Energy Technology (Anhui) Co., Ltd. The company is the first enterprise in China specializing in the production of large-capacity solid-state lithium batteries and currently holds 14 patents, fully advancing the all-solid-state battery R&D and production project.

On September 8, ISU Specialty Chemical, under South Korea's ISU Group, announced the start of construction for its lithium sulfide production line. The project plans an investment of approximately 85.2 billion won (equivalent to 435 million yuan), with a designed capacity of 150 mt per year, expandable to a maximum of 500 mt. Huayiqing Innovation Materials Technology Co., Ltd. signed an agreement with the People's Government of Nanxi District, Yibin, Sichuan, to invest in and construct a dedicated silicon-based anode materials project for all-solid-state batteries in Nanxi District. Sichuan Huayiqing Innovation Materials Technology Co., Ltd., incubated by Sichuan New Energy Vehicle Innovation Center Co., Ltd. (Academician Ouyang Minggao's Workstation), is located in Nanxi District, Yibin City, Sichuan Province, and primarily focuses on the R&D, production, and sales of low-cost, high-specific-capacity, and long-life silicon-based materials for lithium-ion batteries. The newly signed project has a total investment of 1 billion yuan and is expected to construct an annual production line of 10,000 mt of dedicated silicon-based anode materials for all-solid-state batteries.

On September 12, the Ecological Environment Bureau of Shaoxing City publicized that the environmental impact assessment documents for the "Annual Production of 30,000 mt LMFP Powder Production Line Project of Shaoxing Zhiliang New Materials Technology Co., Ltd." are expected to be accepted. The project, located in Shaoxing, Zhejiang, involves an investment of 1.1 billion yuan, the construction of new factory buildings, and the purchase of sand mills, roller hearth furnaces, spray dryers, and other production and auxiliary equipment to build an annual production line of 30,000 mt of LMFP powder.
