Slake (300382.SZ) announced that its controlling subsidiary, Changzhou Laikewang Precision Intelligent Manufacturing Co., Ltd. (referred to as "Laikewang"), recently received a "Project Designation Letter" from a South Korean battery client. Laikewang has been designated for the project and has become a supplier to the client, and will provide the required quantity of cylindrical battery shell products for the project in the future. The designation letter indicates that the project is scheduled from 2027 to 2031, with an estimated total procurement volume of approximately 360 million cylindrical battery shells.

Toyota plans to increase hybrid vehicle production by approximately 30% from current levels by 2028. The company expects to produce 6.7 million hybrid vehicles in 2028, while its production plan for hybrid and plug-in hybrid vehicles in 2026 is set at 5 million units. Toyota also intends to significantly expand hybrid vehicle production in the US.

The SMM battery-grade lithium carbonate index stood at 149,831 yuan/mt. Battery-grade lithium carbonate was priced at 142,000-164,000 yuan/mt, with an average of 153,000 yuan/mt. Industrial-grade lithium carbonate was priced at 139,000-160,000 yuan/mt, with an average of 149,500 yuan/mt.

The most-traded lithium carbonate futures contract fluctuated range-bound today, trading mainly between 145,600 yuan/mt and 152,600 yuan/mt. In terms of trading activity, upstream lithium chemical plants showed a clear sentiment to hold prices firm, and their willingness to sell spot orders remained weak. Downstream material plants maintained a cautious wait-and-see attitude, sticking mainly to a strategy of buying the dip. Overall market inquiries and transactions were slightly sluggish.

A smart energy development company's project is located in a town, a district of the city, mainly constructing facilities to produce cascaded use batteries using 30,000 tons/year of spent lithium-ion battery packs (modules) as raw materials through disassembly and assembly processes.
